Your report shouldn't be where the story ends

Give your clients a clear next step. We handle what happens after the report — and you stay involved throughout.

The problem you already know about

You inspect a new-build property. You produce a thorough report — dozens of defects, photographs, detailed observations. You hand it to the homeowner.

And then what?

Most homeowners don't know what to do with a snagging report. They send it to the builder, get pushback on half the items, accept a few token repairs, and give up. Your work sits in a drawer. The defects remain. The homeowner is none the wiser about what they're actually owed.

How we work together

When you identify a property with significant defects, you introduce the client to TrustBuilder. We handle what happens next — and you stay involved throughout.

You refer the client

When a property has significant issues — the kind where the homeowner clearly needs more than a report — you make the introduction. The client signs up with us under our standard agreement.

We take it from there

We handle the claim process so your client has a clear path forward. Your report is the foundation — we build on it.

You stay involved

This is where it's different from a typical referral. As the case progresses, we instruct you for ongoing paid work:

  • Reviewing the builder's responses to your findings
  • Assessing proposed repairs
  • Verifying completed work

Formal expert work stays separate

If a case escalates and requires a chartered surveyor for formal valuation or expert evidence, we instruct one at that point. Your earlier work gives them a much stronger foundation than starting from scratch.

Why this works for you

Paid follow-on work

On cases you referred — not a one-off transaction, but an ongoing professional engagement throughout the case.

New inspection work

From clients who come to us first and need a property inspected. We introduce them to you.

A stronger proposition for your clients

"If we find serious issues, we work with TrustBuilder to help you get them resolved — proper repairs, a price reduction, or both."

Your fees are recoverable

Your fees are a recoverable part of the claim. We typically work with claims valued at £10,000 or more.

What it means for the homeowner

The person who found the problems stays involved and keeps the builder honest.

Seamless transition from inspection to resolution — no gap where they're left on their own.

Lower costs in the early stages, with formal expert instruction only if the case demands it.

A clear path from report to resolution — no win, no fee.

Your involvement at each stage

Stage What you do
Referral You identify a case with significant defects and introduce the client to us
Builder responds You review their categorisations — are their rejections of your findings valid?
Builder inspects You accompany any site visit — you know the property and the defects
Builder proposes repairs You assess whether the proposals are appropriate to what you actually saw
Repairs completed You verify the work has been done properly
If case escalates Chartered surveyor is instructed for formal work — your earlier involvement provides their foundation
